I’m a Korean-Norwegian writer who lives in Norway and writes in English.
My collection of short stories, Beneath the Liquid Skin, was published by firthFORTH Books / Queen’s Ferry Press in November 2012.
In the summer of 2013, my novel The Empty City, will be published in French as Un Ville Vide by Publie.net (translation by François Bon.)
My stories have appeared in various literary journals and anthologies, including Unstuck, Bluestem, Smokelong Quarterly, Metazen and decomP magazinE. Selected published stories here.
In late 2012, one of my stories was nominated for the Pushcart prize and another for the British Science Fiction Award.
A short version of the collection was a semi-finalist in the 2011 Rose Metal Press chapbook competition.
Two of my stories received an honorable mention by Ellen Datlow for Best Horror of the Year vol. 4 in April 2012.
I had the honor of being guest editor for the beautiful international literary journal Asian Cha issue 18 in the Summer of 2012.
I admit to pining for the fjords when abroad.

I am intrigued by your references to non – duality and I think I will need to read your book to explore and understand. Is your interview with Non-Duality Magazine (About Non-Duality and Writing) somewhere to be found on line anywhere? Thank you for your comments on Dead Goat Society, by the way! mgm
OK -You got me! I just purchased The Empty City. I think it is the book I need to be reading right at this moment. Don’t know why – just know. Funny how these things work. Will report back at some point. Peace! mgm
Found the interview and am reading The Empty City now!
Hi Michael!
Thank you very much for asking and reading.
I’m glad you found the interview, it might explain a little.
Maybe the most well known nondual philosophy is zen. Also, mindfulness training has become very popular the recent years. They both have a lot in common with nonduality. It can be approached in many different ways.
Ekchart Tolle’s The Power of Now is also a simple and easy to read introduction to both mindfulness and nonduality.
I know what you mean about the right books coming at the right time.
This is a good essay too, by Scott Kiloby:

Sorry for the late answer. I wasn’t much online yesterday.
Love,
Berit.
I love your work, Berit – the more I read, the more I like. Which is why you’ve been nominated…
